米司法省、AP通信の通話記録収集

AP通信は、アメリカ司法省がAP通信記者の電話通話記録を
密かに収集していたとして、13/5/13に米司法省に抗議しました。

AP通信によれば、米司法省は2012年4-5月にニューヨークやワシントンなどの
支局ならびに米下院の記者室など20以上の電話回線や携帯電話回線の通話記録を
収集したとのこと。
2013/5/10に米司法省はAP通信にこの事実を伝えたが、理由は示していないとのことです。
このような大規模な報道社に対する電話通話記録の収集は前代未聞とのことです。

今回の通話記録収集の根拠が何なのかははっきりしませんが、捜査令状なしで
入手していました。
ホルダー司法長官は「イエメンでのＣＩＡ活動に関する深刻な情報漏れの疑いがあった。
通話記録の収集は規則にのっとって適切に実施した」と強調しています。

なお、この件ではアメリカでは「報道の自由を侵害するな」との声が高まっています。

日本でも秘密保全法が仮に成立した場合、今回のAP通信と同様にマスコミの通話記録も
国が容易に入手することが可能になります。
また、マスコミだけでなく、一般市民の通話記録も入手される恐れもあります。
報道の自由を侵害し、プライバシーが丸裸になる秘密保全法を絶対に阻止しましょう。
